Founded in 1952, the Washington Art Association & Gallery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching our community through education, exhibitions and events. Located in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Northwest Connecticut, WAA has hosted over 500 exhibitions showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists from across the country. WAA offers a diverse selection of classes in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography and ceramics taught by distinguished faculty. Student, instructor and member artists are invited to participate in annual exhibitions. Special events throughout the year include a festive Summer Solstice, an Art Patron's Party in the fall, and a Holiday Fair for the month of December. A film and distinguished speaker series were launched in 2017. The Gallery is free and open to the public. Membership at all levels in the Washington Art Association & Gallery is open to all.
This year, the Washington Art Association & Gallery is thrilled to present WAA Sculpture Walk 2018, a public art exhibition in Washington Depot featuring over 40 internationally recognized artists, emergent sculptors, as well as participating local talents. WAA Sculpture Walk 2018 opens to the general public on July 1 and remains on view until November 1, 2018. Curated by WAA Trustees Mark Mennin and Barbara Talbot, the exhibition is organized by the Washington Art Association & Gallery in collaboration with community partners and the Town of Washington. Funds raised during Give Local will make it possible for us to offer innovative programming during WAA Sculpture Walk 2018 for children and adults of all ages, including artist lectures, films, interactive workshops and guided tours of over 50 sculptures. Thank you in advance for your generous support of this exceptional public art exhibition that will benefit our entire community!
