Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts
of Matching Remaining
Over the past 11 years, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts (EMIA), based in New Milford, has provided an outstanding four-week day and residential summer program at The Marvelwood School (July 3-30). EMIA provides high-level dance education and personal growth opportunities for young people 14 and above from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. EMIA has served close to 200 students each year including hundreds from Waterbury and the surrounding towns. EMIA focuses on creating a safe environment and learning community of young artists and their teachers. In this community, students grow not only as dancers but as people developing skills through focus, rigor and creativity and working closely with their peers. The EMIA experience is truly a life-changing opportunity for deserving, aspiring young people. Read some of their stories on our website, including one Waterbury native, an EMIA alum, now on Broadway. EMIA holds performances each Saturday in July.
100% of the donations received through Give Local will go to providing scholarship assistance, based on need and merit, to nearly 85% of participating students. Your generosity will make this growth experience available to many deserving students who would otherwise be unable to attend.
